Ride Leaders and Sweeps
Ride Leaders work closely with the head and assistant coach(es) to follow NICA protocols and ensure safe and effective training rides. Ride leaders will “lead” their pack of riders on trails appropriate with their groups abilities.
Ride Sweeps will ride at the back of the pack to ensure all riders are following the rules and that no rider is left behind. Sweeps are sometimes the eyes and ears of the group and can provide proper feedback and encouragement as needed.
All Ride Leaders and Sweeps must be registered with the school as a volunteer (background check & TB Test) and need to be CPR and First Aid certified and should be prepared to assist any rider that may need medical attention. Ride Leaders must check-in with the team director after each ride for any incidents/injuries.
(Ride Leaders: Level 2 Certification Minimum)
(Ride Sweeps: Level 1 Certification, but 2 is highly desirable)
